Project Overview
Penthouse Paradise Renovation Work
For the Penthouse Paradise project, the client was planning a renovation but didn’t have a clear understanding of the existing space. They had point cloud data and some site inputs, but it needed to be turned into something more practical.
Working on the Penthouse Paradise Model
We used Autodesk Revit to build an as-built architectural BIM model from the scan data. The idea was to create something accurate and easy to follow, so the team could actually use it during the renovation.
Handling Coordination and Issues
While developing the model, we also checked for clashes and sorted out a few problem areas. This helped avoid confusion later and made the overall coordination smoother.
Making the Penthouse Paradise Project Simpler
In the end, the model gave the client a clear view of the space and made planning much easier. It also helped with documentation and gave a solid base for any future changes.

Project Challenges
As-Built Accuracy Requirements
Capturing the true existing condition of an older residential building required high precision to ensure the BIM model accurately reflected on-site realities.
Defining Scan Coverage
Identifying which areas required detailed scanning and determining the correct scanning approach was critical to avoid data gaps or unnecessary rework.
Point Cloud Interpretation
Converting raw point cloud data into a clean, structured BIM model demanded careful analysis to represent architectural elements correctly.
Limited Historical Drawings
Working with minimal or outdated drawings required cross-verification with site observations to maintain modeling accuracy.
Integrated Clash Detection
Embedding clash detection within the as-built workflow required disciplined coordination to identify conflicts early and support renovation planning.
On-Site and Off-Site Coordination
Aligning site findings with off-site modeling activities required structured SOPs and frequent communication to maintain consistency and timelines.
